El Salvador Coffee | Santa Ana Region
Santa Ana is known for producing some of El Salvador’s best coffee The region's fertile volcanic soil and ideal
climate provide perfect growing conditions for high-quality Arabica coffee beans. Coffees from Santa Ana
display a smooth, well-balanced flavor profile that is chocolaty, nutty, fruity and bright
this green coffee comes from small producers whose farms dot the mountainous slopes of Santa Ana. Coffee
farmers here grow two of El Salvador’s most popular varieties: Bourbon and Pacas. This coffee’s flavors include
cocoa, dried fruit, and nuttiness, complemented by a medium acidity and rich body
Strictly High Grown (SHG) coffee signifies that the coffee was grown above 1,200 meters. Coffees grown
between 900 – 1200 meters above sea level are classified as High Grown (HG). Higher elevations mean slower
coffee cherry and bean development, leading to more nutrient density and more flavor.
In addition to being hand sorted with European Preparation (EP) standards for less than eight defects per 300
grams of beans, the labor-intensive processes involved in producing this coffee result in a consistently high-quality clean cup

About Huehuetenango Coffee
Huehuetenango coffee is grown at heights up to 6,500 feet (2,000masl) in dry and frost-free conditions. By
necessity, farmers in this highly remote area often set up their own mills along the many rivers to process their coffee
Guatemala owes its distinctive, mountainous topography, lush rain forests, biodiversity and its coffee to
massive volcanic activity. Volcanic peaks and mountains roll across the country and carve out Guatemala’s
unique coffee-growing regions. The mountain ranges help to create the country’s unique micro-climates
Together with the rich soil left behind in the wake of immense volcanic activity, Guatemala has the ideal
conditions for coffee production.

Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, Pacas, and Geisha. The country is the largest central-
American coffee producer and exports to the United States and Europe.
